Can't put my finger on why exactly, but I feel like this place does everything almost exactly right. Really good neighborhood bar and an unreal food selection. I hit it every time I'm in town. Awesome prices for the atmosphere you get. Bartenders love what they do in there, which is always the balls at a bar.
Excellent food and service. Just what the neighborhood needed.
Hidden gem. Great place to eat, drink and be merry. Different activities during the weekday and they have a happy hour. Highly recommended. Although, I'll be sad if this place gets too packed. Edit: should've said I would be sad if this placed CLOSED. It was good when it was open.
I've been to this restaurant twice, the first time we went right in and sat at the bar, the service was good and was not bad, I had a pull pork sandwiche which I loved. My husband had a burger which he didn't really like. I decide to go here again a few days ago and give it another try, this time we decided to be seated at a table. We stood at the entrance for about a min because the hosted was not around, once seated the service was slow and the food was horrible. I ordered a French onion soup, and a pull pork sandwiche. The soup was salty and the sandwich was not good at all, the meat tasted old and unflavored. I will definitely not be going back here again.
There's a reason this place is often empty. We started with drinks, but they were out of the first two beers on their list. Then we got a salad, but the menu hadn't mentioned the bacon that would be sprinkled all over it. Then mussels, which were in lukewarm tomato soup from a can. Then a chicken sandwich that was completely flavorless. The bartender was nice at first, but after one or two fails he seemed to give up on us. We didn't bother staying for dessert or another drink, and I doubt we'll go back.
Football Baseball Basketball, Dance music Friday Saterday Sunday. Good Slider, half price appettizers 4-6PM M-F , kitchen closes before 12AM Harpoon WHITE hard to find in Boston sometimes. "Awesome Bartender" Bartender says so.
Food was great and the place was very nice. The food was much better than expected. Would visit again for sure
Used to love it here. Must be going out of business, almost depressing to go in now.
Decent food, nice beer selection, fun trivia on Thursday nights! Great little local joint, would happily return for burgers and beer
Loud; we were seated quickly, with several open tables remaining but the food took an hour to get to us. The special for the evening was no longer available at 6:30. When the food did arrive, it had an acceptable taste and presentation; unfortunately it was also cold. One of us ordered steak; it was delivered without a steak knife. When we asked for one, we were told they would find one. It was never delivered. The steak was overcooked.
Eh. Slightly off decor, overly bright atmosphere, not that comfy seats, and really awkward trivia (like, person running it was very awkward-radio-host-esque, and very few people were participating) made for a really awkward date here. Food was decent, but not amazing.
Good pasta
Forgive me if I am verbose, I have industry experience and would love to own an establishment like this. The place is spotless. The design and feel were sleek and comfortable. The bar must be 60 ft long front to back on the left side and has a classy look, just enough screens, perfect depth and plenty of beer on tap. The restaurant is new rustic and spacious. Waiter was friendly and smart. The manager was busy but came and asked"how we doing gentleman?" The sliders were tasty, especially the BBQ pork with red onion! Steak tips are ridiculously juicy and delicious. They came with fresh spinach and Mac. The pumpkin ravioli were like hot sweet pillows, with walnuts, raisins and some greens. Sauce was perfect. Total comfort food! Must go!!
The food was mediocre and there were just too many hipsters eating there. When are they going to move on to Brockton or Lawrence? They certainly aren't welcome in Somerville! This place seems to cater to them, smh
Food is mediocre/good but it's the usual bar food. Really nice waiter and service though.
Pretty good service, reasonably priced, food that is fine but probably won't floor you. On the whole, a solid place to go for a drink and some food, but nothing fancy.
Sirloin tips came out overcooked, chewy and reassembled flank steak tips more than sirloin! Shame because the spinach salad was pretty good.
Go here for beer and foosball but don't eat the food. In fact, before going in, put on a blindfold, spin around for a while and walk a quarter mile in any direction--the restaurant you end up at will be a million times better.
Great neighborhood spot to get a drink. A solid selection of beers and whiskey. However, I'm not a big fan of the food.
